Free Care Clinic for the Family
The Al Rahma Clinic was the first of its kind established by the Muslim Community in Minnesota. Since its inception, in 2007, the clinic has been staffed by volunteer physicians, medical assistants, community and social care specialists. The growing demand from those who cannot afford healthcare in the community gave rise to the Muslim Community Center (MCC) to start providing basic medical care to everyone who needed it. The leadership and volunteers rely on the generous donations of members in the community to keep the Clinic open year round.
The MCC Al Rahma Clinic has assembled a remarkable group of volunteer physicians and staff who not only share their vision, dedication and commitment but also donate their expertise, time and personal support to this community effort. The team has transformed a humble initiative into a model which is inspiring other Muslim centers and faith based groups to emulate. With the added enthusiasm and energy of new volunteers, Al Rahma Clinic has dramatically increased its ability to deliver health care services to the underinsured and uninsured.
The vision for the Al Rahma Clinic is to incorporate advanced medical diagnosis and laboratory services to deliver faster diagnosis and care for those in need. To reach this goal, the Al Rahma Clinic occasionally organizes fund raisers, donor solicitations and auctions to raise money and awareness. With the aim of providing a public service in the greater Minneapolis area, the vision of the clinic is to expand into inner city and remote townships where free care for the needy is inaccessible.
The Al Rahma Clinic is located to the building adjacent to the Community Center in Bloomington and hosts 4 medical examination rooms for patient care.
